MOSAIC PRAYERS

I’m not the worshipping type, in fact, I’m far from it. I’m Agnostic,  and while the definition of someone being Agnostic varies, I define myself as spiritual and open to asking the questions to what I still don’t know.

Back off! I come with a force of debatable questions that doesn’t need a skimmed through manual book

Growing up in a Christian and Catholic background, things were not only confusing, extreme and conflicting, but it was also a nuisance not being able to adapt to my own views and opinions without them being shut down because I was a child. People forget that while children might be smaller in stature,  sometimes their minds are bigger in size. With big minds, comes bigger ideas and questions that touch on areas that the “know it alls” don’t necessarily know at all. Touché.

Though I have my differences in opinions,  which I’ll touch on at a later time, I still believe in some type of higher power and while I don’t put a name on it, I still pray to that higher power. I believe in natural energies which are universal. What you put out into the universe you may receive.  To a certain and realistic extent, so lets not start energizing all at once.

I believe in crystals that come from the earth which do have magnetic natural powers. Ever feel those chills down your spine from an enlightening feeling hence the Holy Ghost? Yeah well that’s the power of my crystals too.

Crystals require a lot of attention and positive energies from myself that I get and give in return. They need to be cleansed periodically and recharged so that way they can have a positive standing in my life. In order for me to continue that cycle I too need a cleanse. A cleanse from the people I associate myself with, a cleanse from my surroundings and what I allow to get inside of my head. I became Agnostic at a very young age and surprisingly, close friends and a few of my family members started opening up to their experiences of transitioning too. That comfort level not only helped me realize who I was, it also allowed me to openly challenge my beliefs as well as others..

Mosaic was introduced to me by a few friends of mine. I’ve found that the more extreme religious types are more prone to their overbearing preachings and not asked for 2cent opinions, but luckily I have  friends that can respect my boundaries in those sensitive type discussions. Just the initial assumptions of God in a conversation throws me off course and makes my eye twitch go wild. I’ve always said that if what I ask you can’t come from the heart, mind or soul instead of skimming through pages to find a verse titled by numbers, then the conversation becomes a dead end. Here at the Mosaic,  you’re surrounded by all walks of life in the spiritual nature.  You have your religious spirituals, your questionable spirituals, and you’re indecisive spirituals that sway too and from, with what they have constantly badgering in their ears or conflicting with what they feel.

I’ve always noticed this rather hypnotic building made up of lights and people, but never pushed my interest to fully understand what is was.

On the outside they sometimes have a working popcorn maker and while you wait for the last holy session to let out, you can gather with others in conversation,  you might even find those that you know where you wouldn’t discuss these sorts of topics while sitting at a table drinking out of a bottle in a club. Kind of reminds me of being back at high school. All the promiscuous girls and drugged up trust fund babies, would always wait till the end of the week just to repent and ask for forgiveness. Really? Well what’s the point if you’re going to do it again right after church lets out. The swing was my favorite. Just to sit there in bliss and not having to worry about the darkness in the world.

I being spiritual, just want to surround myself with happiness and relief. If I find myself burning then I’ll either look for the nearest water bottle or just see my way out. The Mosaic welcomes all and everyone which is something I can appreciate. The church I grew up in, in Yorba Linda, was so judgemental. Sure the music and shows put on the facade of coming together,  but I was well aware of the bull. Mosaic has a way of embracing everyone while preaching their thoughts and insights through personal experience where they might be able to relate that from a few pages in the bible.

This is Hollywood, so of course you might see a few celebrity faces in the mix of the crowd. Clearly they don’t live in a third dimensional world, but I find it pretty comical when they’re used as a candy bribe to give a place a two thumbs up. Besides that, it can be a real humbling experience. From my understanding there is a friendly competitor that some of my friends prefer more so while others are fine staying put.

Just like any church they open with a prayer and music. This is much more different though. The energies surrounding you are positive and open. You believe that the people inside don’t just sniff out the “Non-believers” only to conform and persuade them, but genuinely to give them another option of a home to come to if they feel at odds. I’ve shed a few tears from the nature of the music and honest words spoken, but only because I felt a mutual acceptance and release of negativity. Remember those days as a child where you had to get dressed up like every day or night is considered a holiday family photo? No. Dress as you want and who you are, but just don’t get carried away as a distraction. If I would have walked into any other traditional church in a pair of shorts and tank top I would of been told to find Jesus.

Yeah well, when I do, I’ll ask him to put his squawking bird back in its cage and cover it with a sheet.

The music and their band is rather addicting. You see the small group of believed to be concert goers jamming out, and you start thinking that you might want to join them too. My depiction is that they’re a group of young adults from your current Disney Channel or Nickelodeon show. A group of all ages in the crowd, but everyone just seems to come together equally and in sync. I haven’t gone as far as to experience their other nights that include activities and social gatherings which do seem interesting, but that would have to be a slow process.

I enjoy the fact that the sessions are short sweet and simple. Not all drawn out in long hours to look over your shoulders to see a few closed eyes when you’re not even in prayer. The preacher is an attractive middle aged guy I’d assume is for the ladies as I’ve heard, but even he too, who is so passionate in his words, has a way to focusing your attention in what he’s saying. I wouldn’t necessarily consider this the City of Angels because this city if far from it, but this is the place to be Sunday nights after you spend your Sunday Fundays drinking champagne and eating brunch at your popular eating spots; or the place you’ll be before hitting up the ritual Jazz Night at the W Hotel several blocks away. Either way if you’re feeling the need of clearing your atmosphere for the good and the better and need a new group of individuals to help you in that area. This by far is the honest place to go.
