BE JOIFUL

As the social media world tends to grow and expand in the depths of the millennial generation, companies and entrepreneurs alike are finding new ways to market their brands at the palm of our hands.

Some brands are geared towards products that work in the favor of our everyday lifestyle, while others are just trying to make a mark; but either way, as technology allows us to actively use these brands at the comfort of our fingertips, it also allows many companies to reach many outlets for the growth of their success.

Last week, I noticed a shout out on social media in regards to a brand throwing an event in collaboration with the Blogger Babes . Immediately, I liked the mention and received a notice for my rsvp to the launch of their app. Joiful steps it up a notch providing the luxury lifestyle for those who can’t always afford to commit to a schedule of pampering for themselves.

Whether you’re a workaholic, parents, or always on the go, Joiful has made it easier for you to arrange a pamper session at your very own convenience. My friend and fellow blogger, Lauren with The Leaux Project, and I were thrilled to be a part of this event, especially knowing that spots for an invite weren’t strictly being reserved for those who have a larger following.
Each day, Blogger Babes sent out emails informing us of what to look forward to while kick starting my adrenaline rush with excitement. We were told to download the actual app in order to familiarize ourselves with their brand and how it would work to our benefit.

Considering that Vanity fair chose not to throw a blogging event as they did last year for Oscar Week, Lauren and I thought this could possibly make up for our prior disappointment. The event started at 7 pm, and Lauren and I made sure to arrive after we grabbed some Jamaican food, which was a horrible idea considering what was in store.

Complimentary valet was offered, but I chose street parking which of course had to be the most difficult task. Once we walked the 8 mile journey from my car, we arrived to a white tent with lines of cars awaiting to be parked.

As we walked inside the tent, we were asked to check-in. One line being General admission and the other Blogger Babes. Once we checked in through BB, we received our wristbands and a ticket in order to receive our gift bags after leaving. The smell of a flower garden with a hint of citrus filled the walkway that led us inside where an intricate bouquet of flower arrangements made up the doorway.

We noticed a couple trying to take selfie photos of themselves to capture the frame of roses, but as a rule of thumb, I offered to take their photos in an exchange that they take ours. It worked out perfectly as we got a perfect shot.
Male models stood at the second entrance for coat check as one male model showed his personality to being playful in handsome skin. Looking like a real life prince straight out of a Disney movie, my playful side attached itself to his. Lauren, making the effort to record through her snap chat, and me not having one, made it all the more entertaining for him as I would stare blankly into her camera not realizing what was going on.

We decided to include him for some camera time as he played along with our silly antics. Such a sweet guy.
From there, we decided to do the step and repeat, which typically, I always choose to decline, but in this situation, it was necessary to make our mark as blogger influencers to spread the word of this new app. While we weren’t actually inside the party, the vibrant ambiance was hinting the suggestion for our minds to be blown.

As we started making our way into the main room amongst all the other event goers, I ran into my friend Joshua who I ended up pulling into an on camera interview with actress and host Rachel Alig, and being he had to head to another event, we made our way in.

The venue was gorgeous with an array of fluorescent colors to bring out everyones energy. People were dressed to the T as if stepping off a plane from NY fashion week. Everyone there was someone that was either at the starting point of becoming an influencer or someone you might need to know. Either way, we were all there to mingle and spread the word of what it means to be Joiful.

Like any chic event, champagne was flowing at an open bar with a separate menu signifying the Joiful brand, a selection of hors d’oeuvres, enough to please the royal family, was being passed around which quickly left the trays the minute they came out. One item had me wanting more of a goat cheese with a rich cream cheese mixture in a sweet cookie pastry was absolutely heaven. As much as I wanted to stay classy, I wasn’t here to watch my calories.

Yaaaaasss gagas! You BETTA!

Quickly, Joshua ended up having to leave, but mentioned there being a 360° photo booth where the line was an hour long. Lauren and I beamed with excitement making sure that we got whatever drinks and photos we needed as we patiently waited.

Throughout the venue, Joiful artist gave presentations from what the app offers on demand. Beauty, health and wellness for anyone who lives for it. We continued to wait in the line, which seemed to never move, but in the meantime a fashion show was underway.

Not too sure how the show aligned with the app and to which designer had showcased their designs, but all eyes were on the models who gave an installation appearance down the runway. Me on the other hand, my eyes were on these guys.

Finally, we were getting closer to the photo booth. During that wait time, Lauren and I were able to meet other affiliates of the Blogger Babes family who were just getting their feet wet to the world of blogging and social media, but it seemed like they have been active as long as we were. With events like these, it’s built to be able to work off one another and share vital ideas in order for all of us to succeed; but sometimes, certain personalities just tend to match our own.

Once inside the 360°, we stood on a balancing stage where a guy operated a camera to film us in a circular motion. From there we were asked to be playful by dancing and throwing flowers in the air. Once the photos were downloaded, they displayed in a slow motion giving the viewer the idea that they were watching us in every angle. Dope.

The night was still young and there was no slowing down as the Djs hyped up the crowd to edc music. Running into people is pretty common and quite often in this town, so we chose to make our way to the dance floor with every other person that was a body of life. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to truly let my hair down and just have fun. Typically, that’s where I tend to find like minded individuals who don’t mind a little sweat and wardrobe malfunctions from time to time. As people watched, I continued dancing disregarding any and all bad energy I might have had in my system throughout the week; but eventually, our feet started to take the hit and resented us for working them to hard. That was the perfect time to go into the other room and take a breather.

Even though it was still energized with a room full of fellow guest, I felt it necessary to take advantage of our ticket we were handed in order to retrieve our swag bags before the possibility of running out. Struggling, I made my way to the front entrance to redeem my ticket and was hadn’t a tote with a personalized rolled up robe.

The tote was filled with amazing goodies promoting the world of beauty; in fact, we were being spoiled by this show of thanks and appreciation for our attendance. One gift being a $500 gift card to any luxury treatment Joiful offered and an extended special offer code:Getappy  to share with my readers to offer them one free pamper session. Only catch is you have to be within the West of Los Angeles area.

We were simply amazed by this event and the quality of time and effort it took in putting this all together.

By this time, Lauren and I were beat which was probably from all the dancing and hobnobbing we had been doing. Not only that, but I for the first time had to turn away all the food they kept bringing me. You’d think they thought I was a garbage disposal.

So we decided to call it a final night and crawl our way down the mile long road and head home, but not until we were finally able to say our thanks and catch up with the queen of all Bloggers and founder of Blogger Babes, Heidi Nazarudin.

Overall, if you weren’t at any of the Oscars party, then this was the place you wanted to be! What Joiful means to me is to shed Joy, Bliss and Happiness among everybody around you and in your life in order to live a life of joifulness.
